Hope Butterfly at D2D

It's the first week of October so a free image is available for everyone who wishes to join the Progressive Challenge over at Delightful Inspiration. See the challenge rules here. The "Hope Butterfly" image is in support of the Hope 2011 Cancer Awareness. Please visit Designed2 Delight digital stamps store for more whimsical and cute images.
For my card, I stamped different pink swirl designs on a white glittered board and embossed them. The stamps are two scoops/swirlie designs from Basic Grey. I then colored the butterfly image in two sizes and glued them on leaving the upper wings unattached.

Falloween Cat freebie at D2D

I had time to play at Delightful Inspiration Progressive Challenge this week with this very cute freebie "Falloween Cat". It's the first week of September, so everyone is welcome to get the freebie. If you want to have a collection of more adorable images, you can join the progressive challenge or visit Designed 2 Delight digital stamps.
It's preparation time again for that fun time of the year-Halloween! I am not much for the scary costumes and decors, but I love making cute Halloween cards and tags with sweet treats for my family and friends. For my card, I combined the Stitched Pumpkin image and Falloween Cat. It's a simple easel card with faux stitching on the frame to complement the stitched pumpkin.
I found some printed buttons on my stash with same color combinations of my card and decorated them with white and black nylon strings. The background paper I used is from a digital halloween paper of Pink Petticoat.
A closer look at the buttons and the nylon strings:

This is how the card looks when folded as a regular card.
The sentiment is a freebie from The Crafty Nomad Halloween Quotes.

Cupcake mouse freebie at D2D

Have you seen the new freebie at Delightful Inspiration Progressive Challenge this week? It's a teeny, cutie Cupcake Mouse which I love so much! I wasn't able to play for a couple of weeks because of so many commitments and I've been under the weather for a week now. I was able to make a card though just in time for this week's challenge. If you love whimsy and adorable images, check out the Designed2Delight digital stamps and play along each week to get the weekly freebies. I'm also entering my card for the Saturday's Designer's Challenge which is to use "Bling".
I tried the gold and yellow hues for my card this time and made a chocolate cupcake to complement.
The frame I used is a freebie from Digisparkle and the sentiment is from Tlc Creations. The papers are from the gorgeous collection of Pink Petticoat stripes and swirls sets.
I added a set of spoon and fork as blings for the gold ribbon.

Peacock Beauty at D2D

It's a true beauty icon for this week's freebie image " Peacock Beauty" and  a perfect sentiment at Delightful Inspiration Progressive Challenge. If you weren't able to play last week's challenge, you can still get this and other fab images at Designed2Delight digital stamps store.
For my card, I designed a simple yet elegant card. I decoupaged its lovely plumes and applied glitter. I punched one side using Martha Stewart Optic Dot edge puncher and placed a ribbon on the other side attached with a pearlized buckle.

Stand proud and be glad 'cause there's beauty in us all!

Strawberries freebie at D2D

I hope you're having a berry sweet day 'cause it's strawberries freebie this week at Delightful Inspiration Progressive Challenge! This image really look luscious and sweet! Love also the plant swirls and flowers along with the strawberries. Visit Designed2Delight digital stamps for new fun summer images for your collection.
When I think of strawberries, I see shiny red color, so I made a red Stepper card. I included also Sitting Kaela from the Ladybug Kaela set of Designed2Delight available for purchase. She looks really sweet and is one of my favorite D2D images. Here's my card:

To make the strawberries shiny, I brushed PVA glue over the image and when dried, it made the red color really bright. I added some die-cut swirls and printed different sizes of flowers from the strawberry image. The sentiment is a freebie from Tlc Creations printed on polka dot paper and framed using Beaded Circles from Spellbinders.

Have a sweet day!

Tropical Summer at D2d

Busy, busy week for me but I do hope I could post this in time for the Progressive Challenge at Delightful Inspiration.  It's a "Tropical Summer" image for this week's freebie. See more lovely images at Designed to Delight digital stamps store and join the challenges if you want to have a collection of their wonderful images.
The flower image is really familiar with me 'cause I used to play with this when I was about 8. We call this flower  in the Philippines (with the stamen),  "Gumamela". My neighbor friends and I even tasted the nectar and surprisingly it tastes sweet. The curious child in me. lol. Good thing it's not poisonous. Maybe that's why the bees like to hang around with this lovely bloom. Anyway here's my card:

Mary, Mary freebie at D2D

The lovable Miss Mary is the freebie this week at Delightful Inspiration Progressive Challenge. If you weren't able to play last week, you can still get her at Designed2Delight digital stamps store. And if you want to have a collection of their cute stamps, join the fun at the Delightful Inspiration challenges.
For Mary, I made a Tent Card in various orange color hues. I haven't made a card with this color yet and I think I made a one cheerful card. Hope I could brighten someone's day with this one.
I drew some water sprinkles with colored pencil and added some glitter. The flowers were made using Marianne Design Creatables LR 0111 and put orange crystal gems at the centers. Mary's dress was paper-pieced with the same print as the background paper- Daisy bouquet set from Pink Petticoat.

The lovely sentiment is a freebie from When the scrap hits the fun:
Hope you like it.

D2D Spring Fence Freebie & Pop-up Card

I am so pleased with how my project for Delightful Inspiration Progressive Challenge came out! I was able to make a pop-up card for this week's freebie-Spring Fence. This image completed my collection of lovely garden images of Designed2Delight digital stamps.
For the card front, I used Marianne Design Die LR0111 and embossed a rounded square for the center. I slightly colored the embossed images with chalk. I then added a yellow satin ribbon and 3 yellow crystal gems. The sentiment is from Scrapalicious Times.
Inside, I printed Fluffly Cloud images on upper part and Fairy Dots on the lower portion as background. Both designer papers are from Pink Petticoat.
The sentiment is from Whenthescraphitsthefun
I printed the images-Caring Kaela and Spring Fence on a white board paper, colored them and cut separately. I then assembled the pop-up support and attached the images.

Flower Freebie at D2D

The uniqueness of this weeks' freebie image for the Delightful Inspiration Progressive Challenge is what inspired me to make this card design. It's a flower image with floral images at its center. This and other wonderful images are available at Designed2Delight digital stamps.
I created overlapping bunches of flowers using the same image but different sizes and added just a hint of color using chalks. I colored the centers with a darker shade. For the main image I paper-pieced 2 images using patterned paper from Pink Petticoat with the second piece glued only on the middle part to give the petals a little lift. For the flower's center, I added glitter glue and attached with foam adhesives.

The sentiment is a freebie from Scrapalicious Times:

 Materials used:
Cream board paper
Pink Petticoat Little Swirls
Dovecraft decorative chalks
Lilac crystal gems

ALL White + ONE Color Challenge at D2D

As part of my guest designing stint at Delightful Inspiration, I got the chance also of making an inspiration card for the Saturday's Design Team Challenge which is: ALL White + ONE Color. Details of the challenge can be found here.
This is a real challenge for me because I love coloring images, so I chose an image which I think would stand out even with only a bit of color- Fairy Kaela. She's available for purchase at Designed2Delight digital stamps. Isn't she cute?

For my card, I made a different kind of card style- a Side Stepper Card. I've seen some cards made with this style so I watched some tutorials on how to make one. There's also a free template at Cardmaking & Papercraft here. Here's my finished card:
Here's a different view of my card to better see the stepper card style:

I inserted a wand (downloaded from a coloring page) for Fairy Kaela to add balance to the frame and team up with the sentiment I chose. For dimension, I added a star bubble sticker. For sparkles, I used glitter glue for the image and crystal gems for the frame.
This sentiment is a freebie from TlcCreations:
The lovely daisies are from Layered Accents from K&Company  which I decorated with yellow mini craft balls on the center of each flower while the metal buckle and ribbon is from a local craft store.

I'm a Guest Designer at Delightful Inspiration

Woohoo! I'm so thrilled because it's the first time I've been invited as Guest Designer for the week to one of the wonderful blog-Delightful Inspiration and on-line store of Designed2Delight digital stamps. Please visit the link here.
As a guest designer, I had the chance to make a sample card of the next freebie image "Summer Days" for the Progressive Challenge. "Summer Days" is an adorable bear image and I designed a special kind of card-a Slider Card. This took me a while to make because I had to design a special construction for the slider. After much trial and error, I am glad to finally finished this one:
Notice the small tab on top of the sun? Pulling the tab up or down will make the sun rise or hide behind the bear. This is the view when the sun is down:

The sun and the trees are from the Spring Stuff set of The Scrapping Sisters. The designer papers are from the Fairy Dots set of Pink Petticoat. The sentiment "Here comes the sun" from the song of The Beatles with same title, is my own design.

And because it's summer, I colored the bear with a little blush on the cheeks. I also placed mini black gems on the flowers for dimension.

Hope you like it.

Quilt card for Designed2Delight

I was so glad our internet line got fixed! Everyone in the house panicked when our line went dead yesterday! My 2 teens need a connection for most of their schoolwork and of course fb, twitter and what have you. Can't live without it these days!
Anyway, before the internet disruption, I was making this post for this week's Progressive challenge at Delightful Inspiration. Because it's the first challenge for the month of May, everyone is free to grab the " Pail of Flowers" digital stamp at Delightful Inspiration blog. Create a card with the free image and you will be emailed the next digital stamp for free. If you missed playing along this week, this and other cute images are available at Designed2Delight digital stamps.
For my card, I focused on the quilted linen under the pail of flowers. I used a quilted background paper from Nitwit Collections. The sentiment "Sewn in Love" is from Meljen's Designs.
I decoupaged the flowers and glued yellow mini craft balls for the centers. I paper-pieced (it's my favorite technique) the quilted linen with the same paper I used as background. Same thing I did with the buttons. It took me some time to cut the mini buttons and glue them one by one on the frame and on the scalloped hem of the card but I'm pretty pleased with the result. I also coordinated a stitched ribbon as accent.

Materials used:
Cream cardstock
Nitwit Collections from the Bear Necessities kit
Promarkers: Shale, Gold, Vanilla, Ice Grey2, Ice Grey4, Pastel Pink
Letraset Tria : R738,Y156, IG02
Mini craft balls: yellow
Stitched Chocolate and cream ribbon

Flutterby Fairy

My entry for this week's Progressive Challenge at Delightful Inspirations is a floral easel card using the lovely Flutterby Fairy freebie. This and other wonderful Designed2Delight digital stamps are available  here. Using Creatables LR0112 stencils for die-cutting and embossing by Marianne Design, I made 2 floral frames. I then printed the Flutterby Fairy on a pink background and added a circular frame about the same size of the floral center. I tilted the image a little for a flying effect.
After coloring the image, I made 3 flowers as embellishments. I used the flower freebie from Bullfrogs & Butterflies file and printed it at 3 different sizes to create the layer.
Here's a clearer view of the flowers. I also made a layer of the butterfly's wings for a fluttering effect.

For the inside page of the card, I also made a circular frame and made a border of the flower freebies. To make the easel card stand, I glued a butterfly embellishment. The sentiment is a freebie from TlcCreations.
Materials used:
Creatables stencil & embossing die by Marianne Design
Board paper-Chocolate brown
Promarker pens: Ruby,Coral,Blossom, Spice, Pastel Pink
Tria Markers: O528, R424
Butterfly bead
Glitters
