CDAC Progressive Challenge #3

It's all about women for my entries in the CDAC Progressive Challenge#3.
My first card is an Oak Fairy from Gurukitty Designs. I find the image very mysterious and I designed a card that made her blend with the leafy background. I can imagine walking into the woods full of falling leaves and looking closely, I find a lovely creature sharing the gentle breeze of the autumn air. Such a wonder to behold!
The leafy background is a freebie from Spyder's Corner which you can find here.
I think the sentiment from TlcCreations best describes the wonder and mystery of the image.
My second card is an image from Lia Stampz. I made a very simple one with embossed  background. The Texture Template is a recent purchase from a local craftstore. It's from Sizzix Texture Plates Kit #9, a total of 6 very elegant and floral embossing plates. The plate I used is called the Formal Fanfare. The sentiment is from Raindrop Echo Design's Quotes on Women, a freebie from Sentimental Sundays for a limited time.

A 3-D Card and Bizzy Bec's Challenge

This week, I'm trying out a new card technique with the use of a 3-D card template. More and more movies are being shown on 3-D, so why not a card? This technique uses miniature templates of different objects like shoes, bags, even a mini store and whatever fancies your imagination. One on-line store I've come across which carries a variety of awesome 3-D templates is Cut and Craft .
For my card, I used Cut and Craft's Small Gazebo and display box template. The download for the template includes illustrations and very easy to follow instructions. You can decorate the gazebo however you like, just make sure to plan the design before assembling. I'm using this template for my entry in the Bizzy Bec's September Challenge which is a Colour Challenge using blue, green and white. The image I used is from Bizzy Bec's Blue Butterfly digi stamps "Once upon a time....Collection" called Roses Roses. They're having a sale now so it's the best time to buy some of their many lovely collections.
Here's my finished card:
I decorated the gazebo with my handmade glittered blue roses, laces of green leaves stickers and wide green ribbon as stair carpet . Here's a close-up view of the lovely image Roses Roses:
The finished card is 6.5"x 8.5" and about 1.5"thick. The template also includes a box template with handle for the card. I think anyone would love to receive a 3-D card and can have it framed later on to always remember you by.

CDAC Progressive Challenge #2

It's Back to School theme for CDAC Freebie Progressive Challenge #2. The challenge details can be found here. Speaking of school, we're also having our highschool reunion this coming Saturday. Already excited to see my former classmates and batchmates. I'm handling the finance committee so I've been busy collecting and issuing funds for the event. Luckily though, I was able to make a card for the challenge. I used a Tortagialla image and made a backpack-shaped card. Here's my card:
I made a simple square tag that looks like a piece of writing paper and attached with a mini circular ring. The font I used for my sentiment is School Script Dashed.

Falloween Cat freebie at D2D

I had time to play at Delightful Inspiration Progressive Challenge this week with this very cute freebie "Falloween Cat". It's the first week of September, so everyone is welcome to get the freebie. If you want to have a collection of more adorable images, you can join the progressive challenge or visit Designed 2 Delight digital stamps.
It's preparation time again for that fun time of the year-Halloween! I am not much for the scary costumes and decors, but I love making cute Halloween cards and tags with sweet treats for my family and friends. For my card, I combined the Stitched Pumpkin image and Falloween Cat. It's a simple easel card with faux stitching on the frame to complement the stitched pumpkin.
I found some printed buttons on my stash with same color combinations of my card and decorated them with white and black nylon strings. The background paper I used is from a digital halloween paper of Pink Petticoat.
A closer look at the buttons and the nylon strings:

This is how the card looks when folded as a regular card.
The sentiment is a freebie from The Crafty Nomad Halloween Quotes.
