CDAC Progressive Challenge

CDAC is having a new freebie progressive challenge. The Progressive Kick-off Challenge is only till today and I hope I could enter mine just in time. They gave away 6 wonderful images from different artists. I printed them all but managed to finish only one. Hopefully I could play with more next time. Find all the details here on how to join.
For my card, I played with the chef image and here's what I came up with:
This is the chef image which I cut and glued on a frame- a freebie from Scrapalicious Times. I can't find the exact post of the freebie. Maybe it's from her previous blog.

Printing a smaller size of the same frame, I made my own sentiment using Cutie Pop font. The program I used is Pages. I am still trying to make this one into a jpeg or png file so I can share it with you. Hopefully I will  be able to save it in a downloadable file for everyone to enjoy.
Using the same size of the smaller frame, I printed and cut a Peach Pie image from Beccy's Place. I made mine an apple pie and glued it on the frame. You can find the image here.

Chrissy, the Christmas Fairy at MPS

Wow, it's been weeks since my last post! I had been busy creating a leaflet design for my cousin's highschool reunion. And because of the unpredictable weather, I was not feeling so well the past few days.

Before I got sick, I won the "Name the Christmas Fairy" at Michelle Perkett Studio's new image. I suggested the name "Chrissy" representing the Christmas Spirit and I was so happy Michelle liked the name. I was able to color her but was not able to finish the card until now. I tried a new card fold technique called "Tri-fold Shutter Card" which involved a lot of measuring and scoring. There are various folds you can make but here's one tutorial you can start with. Here's my card:
I colored her in pink and red hues because I think she represents the true Christmas meaning of love and life. I colored her gorgeous wings with glitter.
The sentiment is a part of the Snowman with heart image also from Michelle Perkett Studios and the frame is a freebie from Tiffany Doodles.
This is the Snowman with heart image and I added dots similar to the Christmas fairy image. I think it's cute in pink, don't you?

Cupcake mouse freebie at D2D

Have you seen the new freebie at Delightful Inspiration Progressive Challenge this week? It's a teeny, cutie Cupcake Mouse which I love so much! I wasn't able to play for a couple of weeks because of so many commitments and I've been under the weather for a week now. I was able to make a card though just in time for this week's challenge. If you love whimsy and adorable images, check out the Designed2Delight digital stamps and play along each week to get the weekly freebies. I'm also entering my card for the Saturday's Designer's Challenge which is to use "Bling".
I tried the gold and yellow hues for my card this time and made a chocolate cupcake to complement.
The frame I used is a freebie from Digisparkle and the sentiment is from Tlc Creations. The papers are from the gorgeous collection of Pink Petticoat stripes and swirls sets.
I added a set of spoon and fork as blings for the gold ribbon.
